Prayer for the Mother

This prayer I recite is for the mothers, for those who are mothers, for those who wish to be mothers, for mothers who have gone on to the hereafter, and for the mother I call my own.

I pray to the Queen Frigga, All-Mother that You watch over all those that call themselves mothers and those who take up that position. Help guide them and protect them. For a mother’s work and love is most precious.

I pray to Angrboda, Great Witch of the Ironwoods. That You guide and protect mothers who care and love their children that are considered “outcasts” Children who are considered “monsters” because they look different. Children who would be thrown to the vipers because they are ill. For those mothers bear the most responsibility and sorrow.

I pray to Freja, beautiful Fertile Goddess. That You give hope and love to the ones who are eager to bring forth life. For they are the most easily frightened. Grant their wish to bring their children safely into this world and many others the gift of motherhood they so very much desire.

I pray to Sigyn, most steadfast and tragic mother. That You console those who have lost their children. Bring the mourning mother comfort and peace for her sorrow and grief is unmatched. No matter what age, a mother’s loss of a child is devastating. Give them the light and comfort that so desperately need.

I pray to Rindr, one who became a mother under vile circumstances. I pray to You that You help and heal those that were given motherhood forcibly. Help them to become strong and to carry on, even when the world is against them. Console and comfort them as they mourn themselves and search for peace.

I pray to Eir, Healing Goddess of Asgard. Give comfort to the ones who will never be mothers or cannot be mothers no longer. Encourage them to fight and stay strong. Help them with their health and illness, for it has rendered them unable to have children or care for any child. Help make people see them as a person rather than someone who should give birth.

I pray to Hel, Goddess of the Underworld. I pray that the many mothers that have passed through Your Hall are helping and guiding their children in parenthood. That they bless them with good fortune and love and chase away the mothers that committed evil acts of evil against their own kin.

I Hail and praise these Goddesses in hopes They protect the people who we call mother. No matter whom they might be, no matter if they were mothers, are mothers, or will never be mothers.

In becoming grounded,
In becoming more in tuned with my spirit.

Angrboda, great Sorceress of Jotunheim.
I hail You and Your woods and family.
Hail the Mistress of the Ironwoods.

Seeking

When I heard Your call, I was curious.
So, I sought You out.

I was met with the cacophony of fearful cries.
Terrified whispers and dark warnings.
Angry shouts and hateful words.

Not to seek You.
Not to heed Your call.
Not to listen to Your beckoning.

I was warned.
You were dangerous.
Cold, cruel, and ruthless.
Your brutality knew no bounds.

You took delight in brutalizing and torturing,
breaking and manipulating, all those that serve You.
Taking with a greedy hand and only leaving an empty void.

That You were a god meant only for men, kings, and warriors.
Not for those who are kind, curious, and loving.
Or even women and anyone in between.

I was warned.
I would be eviscerated, broken, and crushed.
Left a shattered shell with no hope of recovery.

I persisted.
I found myself swept up by Your wit and Your charm.
Your curiosity and Your love.

You are not just black and white.
Nor are You grey.
But an array of colors; I never expected to see.

Oh, how I have come to love and adore You.
My beloved Raven God.

Divine Lover

Oh, my beloved, how I love You so.
I love all of You.
From Your beautiful sky-blue eye to Your soft as fleece beard.
I love all Your flaws and quirks, all Your ways, the good and bad.

How I love You so.
You came and stole my heart away.
You hold it in Your hand, for it is Yours.
If You had to take all of me as sustenance, I would gladly let You devour me so completely.
Take the beats of my heart,
The air from my lungs,
The sight from my eyes,
The tongue from my mouth.
You could have it all if it would sate Your hunger.

My mind is Yours to possess.
Make me think only of You.
As my mind is filled with dearest memories of You.
The nest You have built there, is Yours.
You rest so comfortably.

My Body is Yours.
To do what You will.
Drink me in and take Your fill.
In hopes that it sates Your thirst.
For I am Yours, now and forever.
Oh, my beloved, how I love You so
